Three years ago, we inaugurated an innovative pilot program here in the Silicon Valley: Boost, a youth transportation service designed to transport children between the activities that fill their day. Through Boost, we sought to closely examine child mobility patterns, the ins-and-outs of running a youth transportation service, and the technology platform that drives the service, while meeting an important community need.
As we consider our key learnings and incorporate them into future strategic endeavors, we have made the decision that the Boost pilot program here in Silicon Valley will cease operations on June 30th, 2016.
The decision to end Boost was a difficult one, made after a great deal of consideration to the impact on all affected parties. Ultimately, we at Mercedes-Benz Research & Development North America, Inc. (MBRDNA) Business Innovation determined that while the program is based on an innovative model, Boost is not sustainable as a stand-alone business in the long term.
We understand that this decision affects many individuals, and we are committed to working with you to address any questions. We will run a full service until the end of the school year and a limited service from the end of the school year to June 30th. Please contact us directly with any questions.
On behalf of the entire Boost team, please accept our deepest appreciation for your patronage and engagement with Boost.
